How can I possibly sum up in words what just happened here? They kicked off
with Man Machine e.g.
Robots, Space Lab, Metropolis (!) and Man Machine. They skipped Neon Lights
sadly. And then a long
version of Autobahn, TEE to name a few songs. I haven't listened to the
whole gigs from MoMA yet
but TdF sounded especially good.
I was on the FIRST row. I was so close to the stage, I had to look the
other way the entire time I was waiting
for the gig to start. I'd almost cry looking at the consoles and realizing
that I never dreamed I could possibly
get so close to them. Thanks to Sonar's mess with the voucher swap, I could
get it right way while other
people were standing in line outside. I had moments I just lost it during
the concert. It was too much to
handle sometimes.
Ralf mentioned he was working on the lighting they used at MoMA's concert
in an interview here. Basically,
from my point of view on the first row they became part of the videos.
Because for instance when you have
the satellite come forward on Space Lab, it makes a shadow on them and then
on their consoles as well.
Metropolis was breath taking, to see the shadows of the building's windows
on the band members.
When I thought I could die happy after hearing these two songs, comes a
long version of Autobahn. My
reaction to their concert this year was different from my previous two
experiences. I did have moments
I was jumping up and down with the music like before. But Autobahn made me
freeze. I felt like crying
but I didn't... I couldn't even move. It was too good, it was too much. I
was too close to the stage. And
it was more than I could have ever ever have dreamed about. To be that
close to them, to see them
playing. To see a 3D concert. It was more than I expected I'd get to see
here in Brazil.
So now I'm off to bed to try to get some sleep.
